About the Organization

Abbotsford Youth Commission (AYC) first began in 1991 with the vision of making Abbotsford a city where youth can feel empowered, included, safe, valued and connected. Another huge goal was to identify and promote avenues by which resources in the community could best address youth issues. These issues may include a wide variety of topics such as troubles at home, stress surrounding school, bullying, etc. AYC is a not-for-profit program that receives funding from the City of Abbotsford, grants and donations to run free programs for youth and is run by staff and practicum students who share the visions of the organization's passion for supporting local youth. AYC strives to advocate for youth, implement youth community programs, share information and resources with the community, and be actively involved with the development of Abbotsford’s community.
